Eastern Connecticut State University Athletics
The Eastern Connecticut State Warriors compete in the NCAA, the Eastern College Athletic Conference, and the Little East Conference. Fall sports include men’s and women’s cross country and soccer, and women’s field hockey and volleyball. Winter sports include men’s and women’s basketball and track and field, and women’s swimming. Spring sports include baseball and softball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse and track and field. While the Athletics Department obviously coordinates and manages all intercollegiate sporting activities, they also coordinate all on-campus sports and recreation activities for students, too. Facilities are designed for the purpose of healthy and safe activity in the pursuit of general health, for use by all students, not just student-athletes. Equipment and gear is available for rental by any students, faculty, staff, or authorized alumni, as are the University’s gymnasium and other recreational facilities. The Athletic Department also coordinates an active and popular intramural athletics program, involving many students as an outlet for competitive nature and exercise. Intramural sports include volleyball, softball, floor hockey, basketball, kickball, tennis, dodge ball, football, and soccer.
Eastern Connecticut State University is an NCAA Division III School. Teams compete in the Little East Conference. Men’s sports include basketball, cross country, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and track & field. Women’s sports include cross country, lacrosse, softball, track & field, basketball, swimming, field hockey, soccer, and volleyball. The sports teams are supported by a spirit squad, which includes a dance team that also competes in competitions. The team nick-name is the Warriors.

Among the championships and awards that Eastern Connecticut State University has received are conference titles in women’s lacrosse and men’s track & field, and back-to-back national championship in softball. Individual athletes have received conference player-of-the-year awards, All-Conference selection, and All-American awards.
